VF Corporation Vans: Associate Developer, Skate in Costa Mesa, California

As an Associate Developer, Skate at Vans, you are responsible for managing footwear projects from the establishment of the tech package to the final confirmation for mass production. The projects you are overseeing are inclusive of inline milestone samples, photo/sales samples, confirmation samples, rider samples, and special projects. In this position, you are responsible for the timely confirmation of projects for your respective category and will support the development/commercialization efforts from your counterparts throughout the timeline.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

You will collaborate with merchandising, design, cross functional teams as well as the Asia development team to deliver product objectives while remaining on par with calendar timelines. You will maintain required target go-in margins while working proactively to achieve them. On a timely basis, you will manage the accuracy of the global footwear development line list within Flex PLM to ensure that all information is correct and aligned.

How you will do it:

Effectively evaluate materials for price, physical characteristics, and function to ensure cost-effectiveness. Work closely with the fit & wear-testing team to ensure that the integrity of the design is maintained, while high levels of quality and performance are achieved. Provide clear written and verbal communication regarding the product, allowing Asia development staff to execute accordingly.

What success looks like:

Success in this role will be working with the merchandising and design teams to deliver samples on time for each milestone, and in mass production. This includes submitting BOM’s in a timely manner and confirming all projects by the specified deadlines. All projects must be fully finalized and complete prior to the close of sales date for each season.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+ years

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your experience, passion and professional achievements.

Hiring Range :

$55,296.00 USD - $69,120.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
