Indirect Procurement Intern: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family
The mission of our summer internship program is to provide students with valuable work experience and engagement with a global footwear & apparel organization. If you have a passion for the retail industry and interested in working on a fun, dynamic and diverse team while tackling real projects, you'll find that VF will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity in which to spend your summer internship!
As an intern with our Indirect Procurement Organization, you will be given the opportunity to lead and / or support Procurement initiatives that drive company value and fuel our company’s growth strategies. You will get insight into one (or more) of our many categories which include: Professional Services, Distribution Center & Manufacturing Operations, IT Hardware / Software, Corporate Facility Materials & Services, Travel, Analytics, and Capital among others. A hands-on coach will guide you throughout your journey, and you will have access to procurement tools and trainings. You will develop mastery of the category you support, while gaining business skills such as presentation drafting and delivery, recommendation writing, negotiations / discussions with suppliers and internal clients, and identifying business requirements. You will also be collaborating with various cross functional groups (from legal to finance to human resources to operations among others) which will provide you with a broader perspective of our corporate business. In summary, you will not only have an opportunity to gain the experience and exposure that could lead to an exciting full-time job at VF in the future, but you will gain invaluable professional experience to jump start your career.
How You Will Make a Difference (exact description will depend on project engagement):
During your internship you will be an integral part of the procurement team and will help deliver our annual value contribution goals. Such value contribution can be defined as savings, cost avoidance, supply assurance, risk management or improved supplier performance. You will accomplish this by creating and maintaining value through internal stakeholder engagement, supply base optimization and leverage, competitive sourcing, skilled negotiation, and effective controls and processes support.
You will help identify business needs, sense the market for external solutions / conditions, and conduct a robust Request for Proposal (RFP) process to guide the business through its sourcing decision. As appropriate, you will help lead / support negotiations of agreements, ensuring that the selection of suppliers meet all of VF’s requirements as determined by our subject matter experts / internal clients.
You will compile, analyze and present data in a way that influences decision makers. Your recommendation may / will effectively commit company funds.

Must be a current student, working toward a bachelor's degree preferably with a focus on Supply Chain
Curious mindset with passion for working with people
Experience with MS Office Applications, including solid Excel knowledge
Ability to analyze information and solve problems
Organized and detail oriented

Must be proactive with proven ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively manage project timelines
