Manager SEC Financial Reporting
The Manager SEC Financial Reporting will work within the Corporate Finance department, which is responsible for the Company’s external financial reporting, consolidated financial close and technical accounting projects. The Manager SEC Financial Reporting will serve as a key member of the Corporate Finance team with responsibilities including involvement in all aspects of external financial reporting. The Manager SEC Financial Reporting will also assist with other projects and perform accounting research on questions/topics as they arise.
This is an interesting position due to the varying duties for which this person is responsible and provides an opportunity to see the operating results of the entire multi-national corporation and indirectly observe the actions of senior financial and operating management. This is a challenging position due to a wide variety of responsibilities/tasks and the individual should have the ability to self-direct. The position provides an entry point for an individual to be considered for promotion within the department or to an operating company.
Prepare financial statements for the Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and press release filings.
Complete footnote disclosures for presentation in the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K SEC filings, including preparation of all schedules that support the footnotes.
Complete tie-out procedures to support MD&A, footnotes and press release documentation.
Review supporting workpapers for SEC filings prepared by other team members.
Work with other groups within VF including Treasury, Tax and Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure accurate reporting of information.
Assist in the preparation and review of XBRL filings.
Analyze account balances, unusual trends or relationships as requested.
Research accounting issues and new accounting pronouncements, SEC requirements, etc. as related to current reporting issues.
Assist with ad-hoc projects related to financial reporting topics and corporate activity such as acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic decisions.
Years of related professional experience: 5-7 years
BA/BS in Accounting/Business
CPA license, or CPA eligible
Public accounting experience preferred
Understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Strong organizational skills
Results oriented with ability to handle multiple and competing priorities and requests
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
