Distribution Engineer

Position Summary:

VF is looking for an Engineer in our brand-new state of the art distribution center in Ontario, CA. The primary responsibilities of the Distribution Engineer are to carry-out broad engineering assignments by performing independent evaluation, selection, and application of material handling equipment and to develop standard processes and procedures. Solves unusual problems jointly with their team and DC operational leadership.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• The Distribution Engineer will work with local distribution center Operation’s team, and data analysts to ensure effective implementation of the labor management program. Owning the labor management program, and ensuring all deliverables are executed accurately is key to success in this role.

• Develops and applies new methods for more efficient use of available equipment and searches for and evaluates new equipment and systems.

• Assist with operations management in planning for peak seasons.

• Providing oversight and solving technical problems.

• Develops and maintains cost control systems. This includes working with management to institute cost controls or cost reduction projects.

• Implement and maintain an incentive pay program and work measurement by use of accepted analytical techniques to provide adequate earnings opportunities equally to all associates.

• Performs these and other functions as needed.

Skills for Success:

Educational/ Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering

• 3+ years of engineering experience

• Good analytical and mathematical skills

• Knowledge of Distribution systems (Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management System, and Warehouse Execution Systems)

• Aptitude for systems and systematic work

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email communications

• Excellent oral and written communications

• Strong interactive skills

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English

• Basic AutoCAD

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

• Light travel required (less than 10%)

Hiring Range :

$105,600.00 USD - $132,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
