VF Corporation Senior Costing Analyst in Singapore, Singapore

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

The Senior Costing Analyst, Strategy, Global Product Costing (GPC) will advance the costing strategy function of the newly formed Product Costing organization at VF Corporation. Located at Singapore the individual will be supporting harmonization of costing related operations that support nearly $5B USD product cost across all VF brands, products and regions. The individual will support transformation from several decentralized costing resources and approaches to cohesive and consistent data-driven processes across the teams in Asia, Europe and Americas. The individual will bring a strong analytical mindset to the organization and fully leverage “One VF” scale through use of harmonized and scalable fact-based costing methodologies and tools. Responsibilities include developing, operating, and maintaining detailed product cost matrix as well as guiding product development, engineering and sourcing teams on cost reduction opportunities. The individual will partner closely with other functions in the Costing Organization and Product vendors to ensure process and best practice adherence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :

Include but not limited to

  • Reengineering: Within the scope of product costing, achieve dramatic improvements in productivity and efficiency through eliminating redundancies, automating repetitive tasks and optimizing processes for maximum value. Collaborate with VF Engineering team to develop processes for measurement of cost-related manufacturing activity.

  • Standardization: Ensure processes across all brands and regions are standardized to leverage one-VF scale and operating procedures across the enterprise. Example: cost sheets, cost validation process etc.

  • Analytics : Build detailed matrices that provide transparency into labor and overhead costs and provide insights on cost drivers using structured cost models and benchmarking methods. Develop systems and models that support maintenance of detailed and dynamic rate cards on cost drivers to enable scenario planning and fact-based negotiations.

  • Negotiation : By supplying information and/or in-person, support negotiation meetings with strategic suppliers to ensure cost optimization through a systematic and transparent approach.

  • Cost mitigation : Establish and continuously update industry leading costing frameworks, standards and tools that enable transparent, fact-based costing to ensure that cost mitigation is captured through optimized frameworks. Understand and inform Sourcing and brand teams of market trends to proactively respond to the dynamic cost environment in a timely manner.

  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional initiatives and conduct specific analyses as needed producing deliverables in a diverse, fast paced environment through extensive collaboration across teams

  • Travel : 10%

Competency requirements:

  • Highly collaborative professional with extensive relevant business and analytics experience

  • Proven success in leading or participating in large-scale projects

  • Experience handling key partnerships, managing multiple stakeholder groups, and consistently delivering business results in a manner that fits with VF’s guiding principles

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills in a global matrix environment including strategic and innovative thinking

Skill Requirements:

  • Proven experience with strong understanding of international apparel & footwear operations

  • Experience in product costing

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills

  • Ability to influence and drive consensus

  • Strong in organization development and administration

  • Good understanding of country, regional and global cost drivers

  • Good communication skills: diplomatic, open, good listener, direct, succinct

  • Knowledge and experience of/with cost modeling applications, architecture and platforms

  • Experience of working closely with apparel/footwear manufacturing desired
